UVA Insider Recommendation: Sheep Dog Trials

Foxfield almost distracted us from the premier local celebration of fauna: the Montpelier Fall Fiber Festival, known to those in the know as the Sheep Dog Trials.

Sheep dogs compete to herd sheep into an enclosure. Small children and law students paw various sheep, goats, and the rare rabbit or llama in the petting zoo. You do get sunburnt and inhale generator fumes—and it's completely worth it.
