Welcome from the Law Weekly Editorial Board
Editor-in-Chief Nicky Demitry is a 3L from nowhere in particular (military kid). She has undergraduate degrees in politics and anthropology with a focus on linguistics, and a “Master’s degree in bartending” as her father likes to refer to her Master’s degree in the humanities. Incidentally, she did happen to work as a bartender in between and throughout grad school and into law school. She subsequently enjoys well-made drinks, being pretentious about vermouth, hanging with her dog, and threatening to drop out of law school and go off the grid, whatever that means. Bold remarks from someone with few practical skills and a strong dislike of spiders.
Executive Editor Bradley Berklich is a 2L from Chicago, Illinois. He has a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Classics from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. After graduating he worked for two years in Washington, DC at a boutique reinsurance law firm. In his spare time, he loves to watch thrillers, move furniture around his apartment, read, hike, and talk on the phone for a long time in public places, like the law library and in your favorite coffee shop.
Production Editor Kelly Wu is a 2L from Vancouver, British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024 with a B.A. in Sociology and Legal Studies with minors in French and Criminal Justice. She enjoys crocheting, sewing, cooking, crafting, and any other hobby associated with 80-year-old retirees. Kelly also enjoys watching 2+ hour-long YouTube videos on topics that she has never once pondered.
Managing Editor Emily Becker is a 2L from the elusive central New Jersey. She has an undergraduate degree in English but unofficially majored in credit unions (ask her about loans!). In her free time, you can find her at the farmers market, hanging from aerial silks, or drinking tea somewhere.
Features Editor Jason Vanger is a 2L from Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has a B.A. in Philosophy and History from the University of Chicago and completed a term as an AmeriCorps VISTA prior to law school. He enjoys reading and occasionally thinks about taking up painting again.
